Before you volunteer YOUR brain, time and effort, make sure they won’t be wasted. Make sure that YOU will be actively involved – not just watching others.

It’s NOT like television. You will not be saving a life every minute. It can be boring and tedious sometimes. But, you do make a difference in people’s lives. Our customers are in crisis. You will help them. They may not know your name. You may never see them again. You most likely will never receive any recognition or reward. But they will remember you forever.

At Charlottesville-Albemarle Rescue Squad (C-ARS) what we do is not easy – we run over 10,000 calls a year. You must be able to multitask, to gather information and make decisions that affect people’s lives. We work in a challenging environment – often hectic and stressful; sometimes a bit dangerous. Technological ability is a plus.

At C-ARS you will meet a great group of 200+ diverse people.

You will form friendships that last forever.

No matter what your interests you will find someone here interested.

Sky dive? Triathlon? Bike races? Bike team? Rappelling? Yes.

Want to care for 600 patients this year? Want to be involved in decision making? Want to take a leadership position? Want to get more training? You can do all that and more.

C-ARS is NOT for everyone. But if you want to use your time to make a difference then we invite you to give us a try. Just ask us how. We’ll help you.
