SCOTTSVILLE
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1936, is located in Southern Albemarle County. Comprised entirely of volunteers, SVFD has more than 40 active members. SVFD is responsible for providing fire suppression coverage to an area in excess of 300 square miles and more than 10,000 residents. Our main service area is southern Albemarle County but SVFD also provides support in surrounding counties. SVFD responds to more than 500 calls annually.
With a variety of apparatus, including engines, tankers, brush units and EMS response vehicles, volunteers will have the equipment needed to complete any task. Our facility also provides members with access to workout facilities, wireless internet and a lounge area for downtime. SVFD is staffed Monday through Thursday from 6 PM to 10 PM with duty crews who provide truck maintenance checks, weekly trainings, hose testing, and other operational tasks.
