STONY POINT
VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY
Stony Point Volunteer Fire Company (SPVFC) is set in the northeastern corner of Albemarle County. SPVFC was founded in 1974 by a group of local residents dedicated to providing a higher level of service to the Stony Point community. SPVFC responds to approximately 400 calls annually. A 2009 renovation provided contemporary bunk rooms with study areas, wireless internet access, several video entertainment areas and a workout facility.
SPVFC is a family friendly, community oriented station that welcomes students and local residents that are interested in getting involved in the emergency service field to help their neighbors and give back to the community.
Crew duties consist of one 12-hour shift (6pm – 6am) Sunday thru Thursday nights and one 24-hour weekend shift on a five-week rotating schedule.
